I have a problem. Who can I go to for help?
Residents impacted by the derailment can visit the assistance center at 541A Mantua Ave. in Paulsboro, next to the Paulsboro Wrestling Club. No regular office hours will be held during the week of May 27th. We will reopen on Tuesday, June 4th with Tuesday and Wednesday hours of 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Appointments can be made by calling 856-599-1657.
How long is the public assistance center going to be open? What can I find there?
A public assistance center will be open as long as residents need it. To date, assistance has included help with lodging, food, clothing, gas, childcare, laundry, and pet care. Inconvenience and wage loss payments have also been made to evacuees to help offset the disruption of the evacuation order and make up for lost work.
The claims process is now advancing in an effort to address final claims in a fair, prompt and conclusive manner. This is an important step in Conrail’s commitment to the Paulsboro community now that the incident response is over and rail service has resumed.
Do I need to bring anything with me to the assistance center?
Residents and businesses wishing to present claims are encouraged to visit the Conrail assistance center at 541A Mantua Ave. with photo identification and any documentation related to their claims—such as records, receipts, pay stubs, or medical records.
